Commercial Pilot – Phoebe Brown

Phoebe’s passion for ballooning began while living abroad in Australia’s far north Queensland. Her landlord took her on her first flight and from that day on she began pursuing her dream career in aviation.

From ground crew to pilot, marketing to event planning and bookings, Phoebe has done every job function in the ballooning business. Through these experiences, she followed her dream to opening her very own boutique hot air balloon company in her home state of California. Her knowledge and passion has helped create the foundation for this endeavor.

Phoebe has flown in cities across the United States but is most excited about sharing this one of a kind experience with her passengers over the beautiful landscapes of California’s central coast.

“Being able to share this one of a kind experience with others is the greatest gift. I feel incredibly lucky to meet so many wonderful people and share this memorable moment with so many!” – Phoebe Brown

Crew Chief/Pilot In Training - Dan Kallal

It turns out that ballooning is in Dan’s blood.  Dan was adopted as an infant and found his biological father in 2022 when he was 53 and his father was 85.  His father, Larry Fortin, was a commercial balloon pilot from 1984 to 2004 and was a founder, participant and the balloon meister of the the South County Hot Air Balloon Festival in Rhode Island.  His father’s tales of ballooning inspired Dan to seek a position on the chase crew with pipe dreams of piloting himself. He is now training with Balloons Over Paso to get his pilot's license. When not chasing balloons, Dan designs new homes and remodels on the Central Coast after designing timber framed homes statewide for over 25 years. He, his wife Becky and daughter Josie enjoy living in San Luis Obispo.

Chief Pilot - Cameron Freeman

Originally from Florida, Cameron brings nearly two decades of ballooning experience to the skies above Paso Robles. After time spent in Aspen, Colorado, he made his way to the Central Coast, where his passion for flight continues to shape every journey. When he’s not piloting a balloon, you’ll likely find him flying planes, running, cycling, or casually sailing around the world….twice.
